NovemberVinegar Can Be Used to Clean Contaminated Water – A story on www.kobtv.com (Albuquerque, New Mexico) reported on the use of vinegar to clean Albuquerque's South Valley water problem. According to the story, an old vegetable farm in the South Valley used so much fertilizer over the years, nitrates seeped into the ground and contaminated the water below, making it unusable for anything but watering plants. However, scientists believe a solution of bacteria and mild vinegar could neutralize the contamination by transforming the nitrates into "non-toxic, harmless nitrogen gas."
