Add Vinegar to Icy Roads - The New Zealand Herald reports that Transit New Zealand is advocating a mixture of dolomite lime and vinegar for icy roads. The mixture, calcium magnesium acetate (CMA), has been used in a five-year trial with success. Reportedly, the mixture is much less harmful to the environment than alternatives such as salt and will not damage vehicles.
